Continuing our Job Seekers Boot Camp series, Job Seekers Boot Camp Part 3 will be held on 7-8 May in Central Auckland, and Part 4 on 28-29 May in South & East Auckland. First of its kind Entrepreneurs Boot Camp for migrants Migrant Careers Support Trust fills the gap with a bootcamp for aspiring migrant entrepreneurs
With a purpose of helping migrants settle into mainstream careers in New Zealand, Migrant Careers recently conducted a first of its kind, Entrepreneurs Boot Camp at the ANZ premises in Sylvia Park.
Attended by over 30 participants belonging to various ethnicities, the boot camp was aimed at new or settled migrants who wanted to set up their own business and were unsure of where to start. It was also aimed at new entrepreneurs and solopreneurs who wanted a refresher in navigating the ins and outs of running a new business.

The adult minimum wage is increasing to $20 an hour from $18.90 an hour on 1 April 2021.
The starting-out and training minimum wage rates will also increase, from $15.12 to $16.00 per hour. Employment New Zealand publishes up-to-date minimum wage rates on its website.
Applying for parental leave payments is now easier than ever. Applications can now be completed online and for most parents, the tax records Inland Revenue holds will automatically determine eligibility. This means there is no longer the need for workers and employers to calculate and verify earnings in order to determine eligibility and payments.
Green Prescription (GRx) designed by Sports Auckland, is a free health and wellbeing programme for adults 18 years and over.
The programme is best suited to adults who would like support and motivation to get active and improve their lifestyle.
The service is delivered through community-based programmes in Auckland and Counties Manukau. There are also a large number of online support options for participants.
